Nexus Training discuss working partnership

This week we caught up with Nexus Training owner James McNeill to find out how they have found the partnership with gymcareer 3 months in.

Can you tell us a little more about Nexus Training?
Nexus Training was created with the learner in mind. Drawing on industry experience as well as on feedback from Active IQ and previous and existing learners we adapt and shape our teaching and education model around what is relevant and what will benefit the learners more. We believe that the learning should be personal, adaptive, supportive and more importantly enjoyable. All courses are designed to allow learners to study and complete their courses around existing work and/or family commitments.

Our team has a strong drive to help those looking to start a career in the health and fitness industry, plus to this, we also help those who have been working in the industry for a number of years add to their existing qualifications and take the next step in their careers.

How has the link with gymcareer been received by your learners?
The link with GymCareer has been received very well. Obviously, employment after qualification is something a lot of potential students have questions about. Yes, newly qualified personal trainers like the option of being their own boss. But I think having the option of using a company like GymCareer to help them should they wish to work in an established gym environment first with access to potential clients is a massive boost that some of them are grateful to have there if they choose to use it.

It’s been the biggest update to our qualified learner package in the last few months, and something which we were keen to get established as well as announce for our learners. From working in the industry ourselves we understand how important it is to have the option of career support once qualified. If you add the GymCareer partnership to the existing career support Nexus Training already offer then it just strengthens the care that we want to show our learners and ensures that we’re doing everything we can to improve their footing within the health and fitness industry.

What benefits does this link have for yourself as a training provider?
The benefits for ourselves is that we feel confident referring our learners to GymCareer, it’s clear that they’re experts in their field. That is obvious when you look at the gyms that they’re linked with. All the major chains, which are already familiar to the learners when they come to us looking for their qualifications. From a marketing point of view, they’re also helpful because there are still people out there who are unaware of the qualifications needed to become a PT, GymCareer has helped inform potential students of what is necessary to follow the career they want.

What is the most positive thing you have found from partnering up with gymcareer?
It was important to us that we work with companies that will benefit our students once they’ve qualified. It was clear from the start that GymCareer were passionate about what they do and how they’re going to help the learners. This matched with our own companies ethos which meant it was a perfect fit. They’re keen to help employment for our students as well as further career advice if needed. The staff we have been in contact with have been more than helpful when setting up the partnership as well as providing images and leaflets etc that we can use when discussing the link with the students.
